I love Christmas! I can honestly say it's my favorite time of year. It's filled with family gatherings, parties with friends, cuddling time with the kids by the fireplace. Oh, and the food's not bad either.
But with this time of year also comes exhaustion and stress. Running from store to store, shopping for the perfect gift, baking cookies until your oven explodes, putting up decorations. It's a month of crazy preparation and then you blink, and it's over. You're left in a pile of wrapping paper, dirty dishes, and a dark circles under your eyes. But it's SOOO worth it, isn't it!?! To see the wonder of Christmas through your child's eyes? To remember that Christmas isn't about the gifts we find under the tree, but the gift we were given 2000 year ago.
Think about it...2000 years ago, a king was born. Not just any king; THE KING. Can you imagine being Mary or Joseph on that night? Knowing that you were looking down at the Savior of the World? The world didn't change the minute Jesus took his first breath. In fact, most of the world didn't even know. But Mary & Joseph did. They knew the impact of that night. And that 33 years later, that innocent baby would save the world, but in a way nobody expected. What a gift! A gift that has spanned the generations and is offered to us, not just on Christmas, but every day of the year.

Isn't it amazing? I still have the hardest time wrapping my brain around the fact that Christ did that for us.
