His Lovies

All of our kids have a lovey...an item that they are totally attached to. They take it everywhere...in the car, to the table for breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks, and of course, it's taken to bed with them. Heaven forbid a lovey gets lost! That makes for one LONG night.

From the very beginning, Jacob & Sophia attached themselves to their blanket and nuks. But Jack is a little unconventional. He doesn't care for nuks...they get lost too easily. So he prefers his thumb. And while his first lovey is his blanket.... ...his 2nd lovey is, well, let's just say it's not Craig's first choice for him:

We think he just likes to chew on her tail...at least that's what we tell ourselves

Soccer Prizes

This summer, Jacob played a whole host of sports...baseball, soccer, football. But his heart seemed to be more into the relationships he could make than the actual sport itself. Oh, and the ribbons he would get at the end of the season. So, while he never scored a goal, or hit a homerun, or made a touchdown, he couldn't be prouder of the friends he made and the ribbons he received! And we couldn't be prouder of HIM!

The Reading Rock

Every August before or after a grandchild in the Person family turns 1, Grandma takes a picture of them on the "Reading Rock" up at the cabin. The picture gets put into a special frame and hung in the living room. This past weekend was Jack's turn...I couldn't find Jacob's "reading rock" picture, but did find Sophia's.

A Super Duper Pink Pink Party

She's 3!! Our little girl turned the big 3...and because 3 is an important birthday, we celebrated 3 times. Once while we were in Detroit Lakes with Mommy's family. Once at home with Daddy, Mommy, Jacob & Jack. And once tonight...with Daddy's family. Tonight's birthday theme was...wait for it...PINK!

Are you surprised!?!

Sophia was so excited to celebrate and she was prepared. I think over the course of the entire evening, she had 7 dress changes. Talk about a diva!! She was just too excited to wear just one dress, so she wore ALL of her dresses. Unfortunately, I didn't start taking pictures until she was on dress #5. Dress #5 - Cheerleading with Brenna
Dress #6 - A mermaid dress from Grandma & Papa (can you see the tail?)

Dress #7 - Snow White (another gift from Grandma & Papa)
Having a tea party on her new Repunzel table & chairs

Happy Birthday, Sophia!

You are a precious gift
We love your independent spirit
You are so funny...even though you don't realize it
You are a real pistol
But you have a sensitive heart
You love your brothers
When we watch you dance, you transport us into your world
You give the best kisses
Your smile lights up the room
We are so thankful that God blessed us with you!
We love you so much, baby girl.

Family Reunion

This past weekend, my sister and her family flew in from Seattle for our cousin's wedding. Since it had been 7 years since they had been out to MN, my parents rented some rooms at a resort not too far from the wedding so we could spend some extended family time together.

Not only was it a great resort, but we got PERFECT weather! The kids loved meeting their cousin, Triston, for the first time. And the adults had so much fun catching up.

We started the weekend off by celebrating Sophia's birthday. Hard to believe she's already 3 (more photos from her birthday party will follow). And because Nolan is only a couple weeks older than Sophia, we celebrated his big day too!

A little TLC from Bapa

All the cousins

Not the best picture, but what do you expect when you try to get 7 of them to all smile at the camera!?!

Nana made this beautiful dress for Sophia's bday

She didn't want to take it off all weekend...it didn't hurt that it looked just like Ariel's Jacob with Uncle Dave

7 years and going strong!
