This 4th of July was a little out of the ordinary for us. Because of all the flooding up north, Pokegama Lake was too high for us to go boating or swimming in, so we opted to spend a few days in Walker at a Resort on Leech Lake with the Fenn's. It was beautiful weather and we enjoyed exploring a different lake with good friends. One afternoon, Craig took the boys up in a float plane that gave them all an aerial view of Leech. They had a blast!
On the 4th, we joined the entire Person family in downtown Walker to participate in the kids parade. This year's theme was Hawaiian (in light of our pending trip!). The kids had so much fun dressing up in hula skirts and leis and tossing out candy to the spectators.
We then headed back to Pokegama and enjoyed a couple days at the cabin. Because of the high water levels, one of our favorite 4th traditions was postponed, the fireworks. But we got to enjoy another show at Ruttger's and will look forward to the Grand Rapid's fireworks display later in the summer!
Hope you all had a wonderful 4th!
